Thomas J. Bayles

Mr. Bayles is renowned in the legal industry for his ability to connect with clients and his expertise in estate planning, estate taxes, income taxes, and business planning. He loves helping clients achieve peace, clarity, and perspective by guiding them through turbulent times or complicated matters. He was recently nominated and appointed to the 5th District Bar Commissioner Position for the Utah State Bar beginning July 2022. He served as President of the Southern Utah Estate Planning Council, St. George Exchange Club, and the Southern Utah Bar Association. He also served as a Board Member for the DOVE Center, the Exchange Club of St. George Foundation, the Washington County School District Foundation; as Director of the Southern Utah Estate Planning Council; and as Co-Chairman of the Utah State Bar Spring Foundation.

Mr. Bayles attended Dixie State University (now known as Utah Tech University), Weber State University, and Washburn University where he received a JD and Tax Proficiency Certification. He is a member of the Southern Utah Bar Association, Utah State Bar Association, Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, and National Association of Estate Planners and Councils.

He maintains an AV Preeminent Rating with Martindale-Hubble and has been nominated as Utah’s Legal Elite in Estate Planning multiple times. He authors numerous articles published in professional journals and the Law Firm blog. He also presents and lectures at conferences, conventions, universities: including a short course for aspiring estate planning attorneys at Washburn Law School.

Mr. Bayles’ hobbies include smoking barbecue on a Sunday afternoon, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys offering his expert advice and valuable time to ease the minds of those around him.
